Welcome Emelie

Third day at work check. Feels like I've been there longer though. Everybody's so friendly and make me feel really welcome, just look at the cakes they'd gotten for my first day. On top of that my days have been filled with meetings and swedish work so I haven't had the time to even feel a little bit restless.

Normally, back in Sweden, I mostly work with digital projects and the first meeting I sat in on here was a media meeting with a TV channel (plus a media meeting debrief with the team afterwards). It was interesting, realised that the TV market in LATAM is quite different from our swedish situation - where everything's almost sold out and the channels have a huge delivery problem. Here they actually negotiate with the channels on campaign level and can have as tough demands on their vendors as we have within digital. Maybe a little funnier to buy TV here than at home,  when you can focus entirely on the planning instead of handeling refunds and lack of inventory.

Of course there are more things that differs. Here the planners/buyers, or associates as they are called, buys media for all the markets within the entire LATAM region, that's 22 markets give or take. So today I sat next to a girl who prepared a campaign on FB for one of the markets and we started out with and audience on 34 million people before we niched down somewhat with some targeting options. 34 million people... and that wasn't even the entire age and gender range avaliable.. gives you a perspective that makes you a little bit dizzy.  😉

Sleep tight darlings,
E
